Kent Road
Street guide, Southsea
Kent Road is one of the streets in Owen's Southsea, the western part of the suburb developed from the 1830s by Thomas Ellis Owen. The houses here are a mix of early Victorian stucco-fronted terraces and later brick-built properties, giving the road an architecturally varied character. Some of the buildings date from the earliest phase of Southsea's development and are among the oldest residential properties in the area. Kent Road connects to Hampshire Terrace and the streets around Castle Road, sitting between Old Portsmouth and the main body of Southsea. The road is residential and generally quiet.
