Marmion Road
Street guide, Southsea
Marmion Road runs parallel to Palmerston Road on its eastern side and has its own collection of independent shops, cafes, and takeaways. The street has a slightly more relaxed feel than its busier neighbour, with a handful of long-established businesses alongside newer arrivals. A launderette, a bicycle shop, and several cafes give the road a neighbourhood character. The junction with Palmerston Road at the southern end brings shoppers past on their way to the seafront. Marmion Road is named, like several streets in Southsea, after a work by Sir Walter Scott.
