Nightingale Road
Street guide, Southsea
Nightingale Road is a residential street in the eastern part of Southsea, running between Albert Road and the streets leading towards Eastney. The houses are Victorian terraces, slightly smaller than those in the Kings Road area, and many are divided into flats. The road has a settled residential character with a mix of long-term residents and younger renters. The junction with Albert Road provides access to the shops and bars of the eastern section of the road. Nightingale Road is named in the tradition of many Southsea streets that honour notable figures and literary works.
