Waverley Road runs through the residential streets south of Albert Road, connecting the Kings Road area to the streets around Villiers Road. The houses here are a mix of Victorian terraces and slightly larger Edwardian properties. The road is quieter and more residential than the parallel commercial streets, and sits close enough to both Albert Road and the seafront to benefit from each. Waverley Road is named after the novels of Sir Walter Scott, as are several other streets in Southsea. The southern end of the road approaches the larger houses of the Kings Road and Festing Road area.
